Responsible for the management of designated Children’s home:
- Manage the residential home to the highest of standards and ensure the smooth running of the home.
- Operate, run and manage a newly renovated 3 person occupancy in line with organisational policies and Ofsted inspectorates.
- Ensure all policies, risk assessments and procedures in relation to children, staff and others (professionals & visitors) are implemented.
- Ensure the implementation of all designated areas of the Young Person’s (YP) care plan in accordance with OFSTED standards, regulations and the YP’s LAC plans.
- Check and monitor all staff records in relation to daily tasks, housekeeping and health and hygiene.
- Ensure preparation for internal and external audit and inspection purposes.
- Carry out all other duties as deemed necessary to ensure the highest standards of care at all times.
- Ensure the health and safety of all YP’s, staff and visitors to the home by conducting and responding to regular hazard and risk assessments.
- Attend or designate attendance to appropriate staff members for the attendance of all relevant Young Person care planning, reviews and meetings.
- Attend LAC, risk management, education and other meetings concerning the child in accordance with their care plan.
- Ensure professional standards in line with individual and team performance plans.
What criteria you need to meet for the role:
- Level 5 Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) qualification is Essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience managing Children's Residential services.
- Good knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
- Be committed in promoting anti-discriminatory practice and setting good examples of practice within the workplace.
- Prepared to take off-duty calls in emergency situations.
- Attend reviews and care-planning meetings.
- Driving license is essential.
